It's been a busy week!

What a great week we have had! We have really been able to get into our routines and start diving into curriculum this week. We have been working on some reading comprehension skills, writing, grammar, learning geography skills and have even started learning cursive! We have also been working on what high quality work looks like as we create a cover for our student portfolio. This portfolio cover also helps us continue to know more about each child on a personal level. The students are also completing their I-Ready beginning of the year testing in math and reading. This test gives us such great insights so that we can make good instructional decisions on how to help students. Each teacher also took a day this week and did a different reading test where we get to read one on one with each child to learn more about them as readers. All of this information helps us know what strategies and tools these kids have and how we can better support them.

Back to School Night

Thank you to the parents who came last night, heard our funny stories and asked questions of our team. We know some parents were unable to come, so we are posting our documents for your referral. Please do contact us with any questions. Parent Handbook Back to School Night Presentation

Today, all three classes began a journey with Amber, Justin, her best friend, and her third grade class to China. We practiced writing predictions and our reasons for making them.
